A Trip!

I've got everything for my trip!

Yes, I'm in St. Kitts...and I'm not coming back. Wistful sigh. It's just as I remembered it.

And here are my "kids" for the next two weeks.

Sundays in St. Kitts are usually at Shipwreck so that's what we did just about right after the plane landed. I did get my local driver's license first, picked up a few groceries, and even saw a few monkeys playing in the street, and then it was time to give and get hugs to/from lots of friends I missed. When I say it was just as if I'd never left, I really mean it. The same people sat in the same places at the bar they always do. The same band was playing. Of course, the view was the same.

Not to say that nothing has changed in St. Kitts
in the past 7 months - there's a new Mexican restaurant, PJs has reopened, a few new developments are supposedly in play, but overall, there's a sameness. Some people might feel stagnated by such a thing, but for others it's like putting on some well-worn sandals. Just comfortable. You can go home again because it's just as you left it. At the moment, I'm appreciating that. I wasn't sure how I'd feel when I got here. Would I be "over it"? Nope.

The view this morning shows me that the rain forest is earning it's moniker so there will be no hiking there today - although I do have my heavy-duty hiking boots and rain jacket in case it comes to that.

I actually have some computer-based work I have to do for the next two days (yes work goes on in Paradise), but I've already coordinated with my dog-walking pal, and we will be hitting the paved hilly roads nearby later for some 2- and 4-legged exercise. I wouldn't be lying if I said I'm a little scared.
