Brrrr!

| I'm pretty sure I'm close to being able to do this. |

I love Jiffy, I'd be setting fires all the
time for the popcorn shower. |
We survived a rainy day Friday and figured that the rain and dropping temps would keep away any early a.m. drunken visits. This was true, but we did have our neighbor come home just after midnight and need her some music. Loud. When the music first came on, Michael & I looked at each other and asked, "What is
that?!" We were convinced that the words weren't English. Forced to continue to listen, however, I was able to figure out that, not only was the song in
American, but the sad, twangy man was informing us about his house and his car...and something about his backyard. Michael couldn't figure out how I had deduced this and was in adoring awe of me (you know, as usual).
I had to laugh big time when I googled it the next morning and had translated the words correctly (you can read the lyrics and hear it
here) - the song was by country singer Toby Keith, no less (I have heard of him, but I have never heard him sing. And I was ok with that). We got to enjoy the rest of the CD before our neighbor and Toby called it a night. Next weekend, we might
bombard her withgive her a taste of some Caribbean
soca.

Saturday, Michael & I had to work (I'm editing; he's irrigating), and the winds continued to pick up, gusting to 40 mph, while the temps continued to drop. By evening, it was pretty darn cold. No drunken visits or foreign music. We woke up this morning (Sunday), shivering because the stupid electric blanket turned itself off at some point overnight. Brrrrrrr!

Lizards are falling out of trees!
This proves I was a lizard in my prior life. |
I was rather amazed when the weather channel said it was 50 degrees and felt like 50 degrees. My a**! It's dark, winds are gusting, and it's 50 degrees - sorry, but that
feels much colder. Even without the wind, my first two days in Toronto last month were warmer (and at least the hotel had heat).
How cold is it (for Floridians, and apparently, hapless amphibians)?
Fish Lips Florida Keys posted this on their Facebook page: "
Watch for comatose iguanas falling from trees this morning. I saved this one from being run over this morning. 54 degrees... This is bologna!!!"

| My hero! |
Needless to say, we've stayed in. We've been catching up on shows via laptop and staying toasty under the blankey. Well, until we got hungry. This is where I am adoringly in awe Mr. Mike. This was after a (fake) beef stroganoff run (on a moped), both of us wanting something hardy, and I'm liking his "extras." Sustenance for when
The Amazing Race premieres tonight.
My hands are so cold, I can't type anymore (really). Let me know when it's back in the 70s!
