And then it rained some more on Thursday (we even had some thunder) and overnight Friday...Luckily Saturday morning gave us blue skies because there was a lot going on - as you can see from both Facebook and my calendar. The temps have been pretty nice during the day, with those cold winds we were having cutting us a break. It still gets a little nippy at night, but nothing like we were experiencing about 3 weeks ago (which NOAA said was about 10 degrees cooler than normal). The cats were just as happy as I was to be able to play outside again.

So Friday was dedicated to running, getting laundry done, and decorating our deck for Christmas. The only decorations we had in St. Kitts were whatever my mom happened to sort of jokingly send with her gifts - a 3D star, a couple of Christmas stockings, and some expandable cloth penguins. We used 'em! Even though we now have access to Christmas trees that don't cost $90US, we decided against one, because our Kittitian kitties have never seen a pine tree and we had a feeling they would have a little too much fun with such a thing. As it is, they think the Christmas balls (and bows) are fun toys.

Below is what it looks like when the brats aren't being destructive. We just added Christmas lights, which we're planning to keep up year-round for a festive touch. Still not a lot of stuff (about $10 worth from the Dollar Store), but maybe we'll hit the other stores after Christmas and take advantage of the sales. Whether we stay here or not, we'll still want the decorations, so...

Saturday, we decided to do a little Christmas shopping at the various sales going on (Pottery by Grace, Anchors Aweigh Club's yard sale at the former Fast Buck Eddies, and the Holiday Artisan Fair at the old Armory. We don't have a lot of people to buy for and really don't make a big deal out of Christmas, but if we're going to buy something we like it to be unique. There was some interesting stuff, but the pickings were kind of slim, and the items at the "yard" sale were pure flea market, from the 1970s.

We didn't get anything, but we were amazed at the patience someone had with clothes pins in the Armory sculpture garden.
You can see that clouds are still looking threatening, but hopefully it stays dry because tonight is the holiday parade, reported to have 65 floats. Instead of beads, candy will be thrown to the kids in the crowd. I want some too!
And then we came home to this. Peek a boo! Frick and Frack (Jack and Zura). I love those two.
While I was working on the calendar this week, I had to laugh at the strange things still to come. New Year's Eve will ring in with us having to choose between the dropping of the wench (Evalena Worthington), the dropping of the conch shell, or the dropping of the shoe (featuring drag queen Sushi). In April, the Conch Republic celebrates the memory of its few moments of independence with all kinds of insanity from pet strolls, to "bloody" battle re-enactments, to bed racing (Michael's co-worker already has his bed frame ready), to parades, to drag racing drag queens, to block parties, and more. Alrighty then.
Your scary vision for the day. Yes, he's doing SNL's skit. He can keep it in the box (the small box). Sheesh.

Among other things, I'm a blogger. My last one was
