When we realized people were already setting up for the parade starting 4 hours later, we decided to buy some camping chairs and get set up ourselves. Even though it was a long wait time, it was so fun to people watch that the time flew by.
We decided we wanted a a little less Duval St. and headed to the front of the post office on Whitehead - just a couple of blocks away from where the parade would start. All the revelers would be nice and fresh. This time I blame the blur on the fact that the floats raced by. Hey! Where's the fire?! We mentioned it to the people we met around us and one of them happened to be an organizer. She said they normally have over 70 floats so try to keep them moving. This year they had about 50 (there were more registered). I would still like to suggest they slow down a bit (or maybe I'll park myself on a corner next time so I know they have to slow to turn). I don't know that there were any knock-your-socks off floats, but parades are always fun, and jumping for beads turned into a serious affair. Here's what I've got (online album):

I suggest for photos you go to the Off Duval Bar Crawl Facebook page. They're the best I've found so far, although I'm sure the official Fantasy Fest website will post too.
So that's that. We survived Fantasy Fest. Other than one day of drizzle, we had fantastic weather. We actually got a bit nippy last night and I noticed temps are supposed to go into the mid-70s this week. Looks good for the next event - the Parrothead Meeting of the Minds. Here comes Jimmy Buffett!

Among other things, I'm a blogger. My last one was
