Zombies!

It's as humid and steamy as it would be if a tropical storm was on its way, so the haze and heat have given us some great sunrises and sunsets lately. Very pink.

Michael thought he'd take a little nap before the zombies were upon us.

That was the posed picture. This is what happened right after. Whoopsie! Nap over.

And then it was zombie time (there were over 7,000 of them!). Note pictures from now on are not for the prudish (or your kids). (If you email subscribers are not seeing the slideshow, come to the blog.)

This couple in yellow kept spritzing the bike riders and yelling that they were saving them.

Our drone was back too - can you see it with the green and red lights hovering in the air? Weird.

Michael's sister, Denise, and her husband, Richie, decided to take a spontaneous trip down here when they heard we were leaving, so we headed downtown to welcome them - in the midst of the zombie invasion. Michael couldn't help himself - I'm not sure what the shark guy was thinking about it all (or thinking about at all).

Michael's coworker and his wife were dressed for the Captain Tony's pirate party. Denise getting into the aargh spirit.

Some of the other costumes.

We ended up at the Lazy Gecko so the weary travelers could eat dinner and grab a cold drink. I was wondering how this photo would come out. Denise told me I'd never looked more drunk. Considering I'd only had 2 beers (light, even), I thought that was rather curious. When I saw myself in the mirror later, I could see what she meant. My eyes were really, really red - like I'd-smoked-100-pounds (grams?)-of-pot red. That and my sore throat reminded me that soon we'd be back in the land of no smoking (cigarettes) in bars/restaurants - wahoo!

When we were walking Denise & Richie back to their hotel, we passed a store that had a great deal on masks. We had a little too much fun in there.

Others were having a lot of fun outside (remember pasties/painting/banana hammocks are allowed, and it's an inappropriate superheroes theme).

It's only going to get crazier. The schedule for the week:
